Police in San Ramon detained two women and were searching for a third after neighbors reported seeing the trio darting into resident’s yards in the area of Pine Valley Road and Davona Sunday.

Officers apparently responded to the area after receiving calls of the women – wearing long dresses scarves – in the back yard of a home on Pine Valley at approximately 12:20pm. One woman was detained at Springdale and Davona with the second stopped a little further away at Pownal Avenue and Davona.

The trio allegedly gave officers conflicting accounts of their reason for being in the area. Police were searching for the third member of their party when a burglary was reported in the 2800 block of Pine Valley Road. It was not immediately known how entry was made or what, if anything, had been taken.
