Creek Scene: “Midnight Rider…”

An entirely new shift of personalities takes to our streets after dark – and while their lifestyles may not fall in line with standards set by others they are no less compelling.

Voyaging among them leads to some interesting moments: a snippet of conversation here and there; the flare of a cigarette in a darkened alcove; a glance open to interpretation – welcome, or warning.

It’s an interesting world, with its own dynamics and unspoken rules, and we drop in for a look around from time to time.

“Midnight rider” is good, but rather than evoking Steppenwolf, I am hearing My Old Kentucky Home (the “post racial” 1968 version), mostly cuz of the “wake me when the music starts” dog.

Well, I am admittedly thin on rock and roll history, but I do recognize the contented dog or is he/she deceased? Hard to tell sometimes.
