Authorities are investigating a suspected robbery/homicide at a Dublin apartment complex on Friday afternoon.
The shooting was reported at around 2:21 p.m. at 5050 Hacienda Drive, the Emerald Park Apartments, with early reports of shots being fired – either in the unit or possibly through the front door – and the death of a man who sustained a gunshot wound to the head.
Police located a 37-year-old adult male victim upon arrival, the victim pronounced deceased at the scene.
A suspect, identified by police as Nicholas Paleveda, 38, was detained after he was located at a Walmart in the city of Barstow, California. Detectives said they continue to investigate what led up to the shooting.
The identity of the victim is not being released.
