All in all an exciting Fourth of July with all sorts of activities popping off – some planned, some not. No sooner had the Fireworks Finales come to an end when the first July 5th pursuit kicked off, running along our namesake freeways and back again, photographer Sean McDonough capturing the moment the wanted vehicle (foreground) sped south on I680 at about 100 mph. It left our radar screens soon after and disappeared into Oakland.
Sure, why not speed away, so many pursuits are now terminated.

Yeah, it sucks how often they get away. However, I’m also tired of innocent people geting hurt and killed during pursuits, and the inevitable legal costs that follow are not insignificant either.
