A Chinese national who disappeared prior to sentencing for the rape of a young co-worker in Massachusetts in 2005 was found living at a home in Diablo and re-arrested Tuesday by a task force of local and federal investigators.

Tuen Kit “Dickie” Lee, 55, was found guilty at a 2007 trial of the kidnapping and rape of the young woman at knifepoint at her home in Quincy, south of Boston, in 2005. He fled before his sentence was handed down, leaving the state.

Police in Quincy, Massachusetts, along with the U.S. Marshal’s Service, developed information that Lee was living in the home of a woman with no knowledge of his past in Diablo, and alerted police in Danville – who were able to confirm the information.

Lee and the woman he was living with were intercepted by a joint task force of investigators when they left their house Tuesday, Lee reportedly surrendering after first providing officers with a false name.

A fingerprint check confirmed his identity, according to the Marshals Service. Lee was booked and is being held without bail at the Martinez Detention Facility pending his extradition back to Massachusetts.

  1. I don’t think anyone credibly accused of rape, a “Dickie”, or another by any other name, should be morally acceptable as a candidate for any office of public service. Call me old-fashioned.

  2. I wonder if you ever stop looking over your shoulder. Maybe after 10 years you just feel emboldened to join the Diablo Country Club.
