An Antioch homicide suspect was stopped and arrested by Walnut Creek police in a Broadway Plaza parking garage Monday, an Antioch police press release confirmed Tuesday.
This site noted the arrest shortly after WCPD officers stopped two people in the Macy’s Broadway Plaza parking garage at approximately 4:20 p.m. Monday. A records check of the pair confirmed an outstanding $3 million warrant for the male, subsequently identified by Antioch police as Jacob L. Crooks, 29, of Antioch.
According to Antioch PD investigators, Crooks has been sought since the March 27 murder of Frank James, 36, found shot to death in a car at 5:22 a.m. in the 600 block of E. 18th Street in Antioch.
Police in Antioch credited “hi-tech tools and City cameras” with identifying Crooks as their suspect in the homicide, saying a warrant was issued soon after the killing.
Crooks is currently in the Martinez Detention Facility with a preliminary bail amount set at $1,350,000.
Antioch police said their investigators will soon be presenting their case to the district attorney for review.
Good work.
Wondered what all the commotion was about. Thanks.
I’ve often said that in the last 2 to 3 years, that Broadway Plaza seems to be attracting all types.
As long as they spend their dirty money at Broadway Plaza, Walnut Creek city officials will happily turn a blind eye to the criminal element.
It’s long been a playground for white collar criminals and their hired girlfriends; why not welcome all criminals with ill-gotten gains to flaunt?
In your dreams about the white collar criminals, more like upper middle class enjoying the fruits of their labor…. capitalism at it’s finest.

Most of the honest upper middle class townspeople are too busy working their tails off to lolligag downtown, and the wealthy among us don’t do their own shopping.
No photo? Uhm…
Hmmm, I wonder why no mention by WCPD???? Ye haw, yippie ki yay, murderers roaming the streets of WC, get a beer for my horse.

Was he armed?
When he shot the guy? What do you t?
Most people know my reference pertains to his arrest – and then there’s you.
The thought of these guys walking around out there is so disturbing.
Probably was heading downtown to do some routine shoplifting and credit card fraud.
