Rally For Palestinian Cease-Fire In Walnut Creek Saturday
A crowd of about 150 people gathered in Walnut Creek’s Civic Park in preparation for a march in support of a Palestinian cease-fire.
The group marched briefly through the city’s shopping district before returning to Civic Park and disbanding.

The government of Gaza should surrender to spare their population from collateral damage. Alas, Gaza’s government, Hamas, does the opposite by hiding behind their civilian subjects.
Yes, because they are terrorists, not some form of representative government.
So, how might one neutralize a sovereign terrorist regime that uses human shields in an adjacent territory without inflicting harm on said human shields?
One doesn’t. It’s a lose, lose situation…which the hardliners created by supporting Hamas as a counterpoint to the Palestinian Authority in the West Bank, splitting and weakening the Palestinians. Israel is killing terrorists and civilians while making terrorists at the same time.
I’m not suggesting I know what they should have done. They could have messed this up a dozen different ways, but THIS was the hardliners chosen path. Build new settlements in the West Bank, drive out Palestinians, and “manage” the stalemate. It failed.
Current path? Failure!
There it is! Blaming Jews for making others want to exterminate us and to justify Hamas’ effort to do just that.

@CC: One can criticize the awful policies and defense decisions of the Jewish state, decisions obviously made by Jews, without being some sort of Jew hater. Your twisted logic is uncalled for. The government is getting plenty of criticism from Jews in Israel in case you hadn’t noticed.

Seriously? Opposing the actions of the Israeli government and IDF is not support for terrorists. We should be opposing war crimes committed by any party, especially when we contribute our tax dollars and lend our reputation to it.
When they voted for Hamas, they became members of the terrorist organization. No sympathy for the civilians of Hiroshima either, they loved their government.

I hope and pray that peace loving people on both sides are able to realize that dream someday. I don’t think that parades in Walnut Creek are going to do much good.

(Edit)Hopefully the protesters were protesting the fact that Hamas holds the key to any ceasefire, short or long term. The fastest, surest way to end the Israeli bombing is for Hamas to unconditionally release all hostages. Egypt crafted a fair and lasting ceasefire deal this week and Hamas and Islamic Jihad rejected it. All the blood of Gaza is on the hands of Hamas and Islamic Jihad.

The Israeli government has stated clearly that it intends to proceed until Hamas is eliminated and Gaza is demilitarized. Sadly, this violence does not end with a full hostage release, and Hamas will be a factor in Gaza long after Bebe is tossed out.
