An unsteady, double-trunked tree forced the evacuation of several apartment units in Lafayette on Saturday, crews hearing the tree cracking as it leaned precariously to utilities and other infrastructure.
Several units are on scene at 14 Vista Via, with buildings on Marlene Drive and Vista Via evacuated until the tree could be secured.
My sympathy lies with the tree which does not choose its demise.
A bunch of sick trees risk public safety along Marlene Drive and neighboring properties.That HOA neglects tree maintenance and the condo dwellers there don’t care much until it’s too late.
