Passengers at Lafayette BART got a little more excitement than they had bargained for Sunday after a woman on an Antioch-bound train reported a man had threatened to shoot her.
BART and Lafayette police responded to Platform 1 of the station at approximately 9:35 a.m., arriving to find the train in question stopped. A suspect, who had apparently told a woman aboard the train he had a gun in his backpack, was detained at gunpoint.
There was no immediate word from police as to whether a gun was actually found. The suspect’s identity was also not released.
