The driver of a tractor trailer truck traveling west on SR4 east of McEwen Road early Monday lost control of the vehicle, climbed the right side embankment and veered across all lanes before colliding with the center median.
California Highway Patrol investigators said emergency personnel arriving at the scene shortly after the 5:24 a.m. crash and found the driver in his cab. He was transported to the hospital and later pronounced deceased.
Anyone who may have witnessed the crash or events leading up to it is asked to contact the California Highway Patrol.
