Two men suspected of burglarizing an Orinda residence were detained by police after a brief foot chase Monday.
The incident was reported at around 9:30 a.m. when the men were allegedly spotted inside a residence on El Toyonal Road.
Officers from various Lamorinda agencies responded to the scene, establishing a perimeter and on hand as one of two men believed inside attempted to escape down a nearby hillside. That man, as yet unidentified, was taken into custody and treated at the scene for cuts sustained as he made his way through the underbrush.
The second man was detained a short time later and a short distance away.
We’ll have additional details when they become available.
Yee ha, it’s The Wild West out there.

It is sad and bizarre that you, as former “law enforcement”, celebrate the violence because that is what Wild West denotes: every man, woman, and child fending for himself or herself in anarchy.
David, I think Jeff does it out sarcasm as to how bad things have gotten! It has become the wild west out there. There is a difference though, as they used to lock their people up back then. Now, out of some sort of misplaced compassion, we just turn them loose again to repeat their crimes on additional victims. The public is getting very upset at this. But the politicians aren’t listening. They instead just promote the turning loose of criminals. So no matter how wonderful a job the police have done here and how hard they worked, all their blood, sweat and tears will be in vain for the criminals will be out playing their trade again the next day! You have DAs, Judges and politicians wanting this.
They episode so in their words and actions. In my opinion, they don’t seem to care about me or any other good citizen. And believe me, I’m going to remember this on election Day!
david,
GregT has captured my exact thoughts. You voted for these liberal politicians, now you have to suffer with the crime and mayhem.
