Four people have been arrested on an unassuming El Sobrante Street after a vigorous pursuit from Walnut Creek through the 24/680 and eventually onto Circle Drive Tuesday.

A large number of sheriff’s deputies and an East Bay Regional Park District helicopter took part in the chase as police took an interest in a silver Hyundai with four men aboard and followed it doggedly during a snaky pursuit on area freeways and city street. The car was reportedly first “acquired” by police in downtown Walnut Creek and followed out of Walnut Creek before speeds picked up.

The four abandoned their car and fled into the neighborhood, surrendering to officers and deputies as they closed in at about 3:05 p.m.

We’ll have more on this incident as additional information comes to light.

  1. The term ‘acquired” is less pejorative than purloined. Well played with the appropriate measure of restraint 24/680. Will await further details on the underlyiing incident.

          • See! What did I say last week about groups of three and four men in a questionable looking car weaving through downtown Walnut Creek,.. kind of looking things over and giving hard looks? . Yep I’m profiling. And possibly judging, but not condemning. But just staying alert for my own self.

  2. As Chris Rock said in his video, “if you run from the police, maybe you do deserve a beating”.

    • deserving a beating…yeah, let me ponder that. I think we covered that during my liberal arts studies. No, wait! We talked about that in Sunday School. I think we were taught anti-beating.

For those who don’t enjoy a beating, Chris Rock is employing I R O N Y here! For those who do, nevermind.
