Readers in Rossmoor are abuzz over another serious injury auto vs pedestrian collision currently under investigation at Ptarmigan and Tice Creek drives.
Investigators are currently at the scene 1:10 p.m. Reports that the victim died as a result of their injuries could not be immediately confirmed – and we do hope that is not the case.
So far, very little is known about the circumstances leading up to the collision, reported at 11:03 a.m.
The intersection is currently closed while officials investigate and residents have been asked to avoid the area.
Rossmoor residents remain in shock over the April 16 crash at Fairlawn Court and Tice Creek which took the life of Curtis Gunn, 64, struck from behind when a car driven by a defrocked former priest jumped the curb – hitting Gunn and his wife Laurelyn.
Laurelyn Gunn escaped the crash with minor injuries – as did Stephen Kiesle, a disgraced former priest from Oakland who was also a resident of Rossmoor.
Kiesle was charged with gross vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated, driving under the influence of alcohol, and special allegations for prior felonies Wednesday as a result of the crash.
Another auto vs pedestrian MVA…..the proverbial physics experiment does not favor the ambulating individual…..hope he/she pulls through this tragic incident. Motorists and pedestrians need to be aware of their surroundings and the situation at hand….safety first
