Police in Pleasant Hill cordoned off a section of Longbrook Way in their city Friday while investigating the apparent discovery of explosives or the ingredients needed to make an explosive in a local apartment.
The discovery was apparently made while police were investigating earlier – unspecified – vandalisms in Pleasant Hill and Clayton. Clayton PD officers were on hand when an explosive device and materials used to make similar devices were apparently located and the 27-year-old subject of the investigation was taken into custody.
The suspect’s name was not provided.
Neighbors said evacuation and “shelter in place” orders were issued for the occupants of about 20 apartment units in the 300 block of Longbrook as the scene unfolded, investigators calling for the Walnut Creek bomb squad truck and Hazmat personnel.
Police lifted their lockdown shortly after 7 p.m.
Explosive situation. Flat earther from planet Fox sees picture of earth from space station. Roommate dies from harmless Sars2. Details at 11.
Jesus God what do they have in there?
It’s not a prayer book. At least that’s not the worry.
Still evacuated??
Reopening now…
“Just a few common kitchen chemicals mixed in the right proportions…..”
Is this what’s known as an abundance of caution?
I’m glad no one was injured.
Hazmat?
Thanks for the heads up.
Sure thing!
Is this the guy ramming garage doors and Safeway stores?
Nice work by all involved.

“He was a quiet guy, he kept to himself….” O the cliches!
