A 56-year-old Lafayette resident died in a local hospital two days after her car collided with another in the area of St. Mary’s Road at Glenside Drive and Woodview the morning of Dec. 24.
Residents reported hearing the collision at approximately 10:50 a.m., finding one driver – identified by Coroner’s officials as Daneen Allenkiester – injured inside. She and two occupants of the car she struck were transported to a local hospital – where Allenkiester died two days after the crash.
The two other motorists were treated for minor injuries and released.
Followup investigation determined that the Lafayette woman was driving while intoxicated at the time of the collision.
That explains why they came back to measure everything. RIP
Thought so. Rolled through there shortly afterward and saw your alert.
I used to live around there and people drive crazy around there. Especially the high schoolers and sometimes Saint Mary students
Was there another crash on Glenside that day?
We believe there was another in the 700 block of Glenside, further down the road, that day…
What kind of speeds are we talking here?
Not given…
