UPDATE: Air search has ceased operations as sheriff’s helicopter moves off to other assignments.
Air and ground units are searching for a man who allegedly battered a woman in their car near the Lafayette BART station, leaving the area before police arrived.
The man is believed to be on foot. He is described as a black male, mid-30s, white jacket, yellow shirt, and dark pants.
The incident was reported shortly after 6 p.m. and police have reportedly made contact with the female victim. A sheriff’s office helicopter is overhead and BART and other Lamorinda police are aiding in the search.
“In their car” the article reports. So they knew each other? Or was this random attack?
They were initially together as far as we know, Greg.
A lot of effort for a domestic battery, which is a good thing. Domestic violence needs to be taken more seriously.
There were some underlying implications, apparently, Keith, and it was taken very seriously indeed.
