Unhealthy air quality forced at least one local school to call off their planned Friday Night Lights and search for more favorable turf tonight – an effort that ultimately proved unsuccessful.
When Miramonte High School school officials researched local air quality levels and found Orinda at 180 (not good) they opted to cancel their game and an associated tailgating event at home, commencing a search for a healthier, greener field.
The school’s athletic director reached out to Piedmont High and asked if they wouldn’t mind hosting tonight’s game but details intervened and school officials were unable to make it happen.
Plans to reschedule the game and event are forthcoming.
