Lamorinda Sleeps Through High-Speed Pursuit Thursday; Two Nabbed In Lafayette

sleepdeprived

Most Lamorindans slept through a high-speed pursuit that wended its way from Canyon through Moraga and on into Lafayette – where things were brought to an abrupt halt – early Thursday morning.

Things are believed to have kicked off on the Alameda County end of Pinehurst Road when would-be thieves attacked a car in that area. A person believed to be the owner of the targeted vehicle apparently interrupted the crime and gave chase through Canyon’s snaky roads on into Moraga.

The suspect vehicle, believed to be a Toyota Prius – a vehicle known for its quiet running – made it through most of town before police acquired it and officers in Lafayette met it, traveling at high speed, near Whole Foods. The car was pulled over and the two occupants detained.

Police have not released names or any pending charges.

From Canyon through Moraga and nabbed near Whole Foods… Heading to the west bound hwy 24 on-ramp no doubt…. That seems like a strange route, I would have thought they would go Moraga Way through Orinda, they seem to always get away when they go that route…. Hopefully they will have a long time to think about that decision as well as others made this morning… Good Job Lafayette Police…

Nice work by Moraga PD and the deputies of Orinda and Lafayette. Maybe the suspects got some attitude adjustment. 108RS

I’m sure they’re already back home in O-Town.
