The Party’s Over… ‘Til Next Year

Americans celebrated Independence Day in typically American fashion up and down the 24/680 Sunday, sealing off cul de sacs and sending up personal pyrotechnics with varying effect and number of complaints.

Local fire departments were kept busy responding to reports of things afire though, when all was said and done, our local fire district reported a 20 to 40 percent reduction in call volume from our previous birthday celebration.

Despite all the amateur fireworks demonstrations we believe everyone escaped with all of their digits though there were casualties – as three people were hit by a car while walking to a sanctioned display at Diablo Valley College (under investigation) and, sadly, no we don’t have updates on their condition.

So, here’s to us America, on another year and successfully blown out array of birthday cake candles, we don’t look a day over 245.
