Pleasant Hill police responded to a call that a woman had attempted to take a baby from its mother’s arms in the parking lot of the Buy Buy Baby store Wednesday, ultimately arresting the woman on suspicion of attempted carjacking.
The incident took place at around 10 a.m. Officers eventually determined that the suspect was attempting to take the victim’s car by force before running off.
Mother and child were uninjured.
Police located the suspect at a nearby Extended Stay where the unidentified woman was taken into custody.
Unfortunate name for that store given the nature of the incident.
The perpetrator has earned an Extended Stay in public housing, the kind with bars.
We hope.
It’s doubtful though, as very few people go to jail anymore for anything. They’re just turned back loose again.
If she tried to take the baby from her mother’s arms wouldn’t it be attempted kidnapping too? What was she going to do with the baby?
That has to be an attempted kidnap-how did they not charge her?
Not sure… believe they went with battery and attempt carjacking.
People are coming apart at the seams.
Bet she’s a meth head with a criminal record
Seems like the sky falling in our neck of the woods….
Definitely incidents of extreme nuttiness but, so far, the sky is holding up! Pretty today, too!
Am I right in thinking that the the short stay commuter hotels are developing into hubs of criminality?
We’ll say that there have been a number of incidents involving people staying at one, yes…
Hotels have turned into permanent housing for recently released parolees. Your tax dollars are what is supporting this injustice. This is a problem across the state.
