One person died when two pickup trucks collided on Highway 4 west of I680 at approximately 10:47 p.m. Tuesday.
California Highway Patrol officers were notified of a two vehicle crash at that time and determined that a black Ford F-150, driven by a 59-year-old Antioch man, had overturned in the roadway and was then struck by an oncoming white Ford F-150, causing major damage.
The adult male driver of the white Ford F-150 sustained minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital. The driver of the black Ford F-150 sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Thanks for the alert. We were wondering why traffic was such a mess. Prayers to the deceased and family.
Awful. We lose so many in these crashes
Construction at the 680/4 interchange creates hazardous lane-change conditions with sudden concrete barriers jamming two lanes into one at the shoulder. I just missed a serious accident with a tanker truck in that same location two days ago. Until the barriers are moved, the lanes will remain confused …
Yes, the abrupt merge there was already dangerous without the construction, but the dangerous situation is even worse with the construction you detail.
This was My Dad..
If anyone has any information of this accident or seen anything , PLEASE let me know…
Our most sincere condolences, Susan…
