A suspect in a Tara Hills murder that took place on Sunday, January 10 was arrested by deputy sheriffs on Friday, January 15, 2021 after he allegedly opened fire in the same apartment complex where the murder took place.

Kenneth Lightfoot, 30, of Tara Hills – a neighborhood in West Contra Costa County – was initially identified as a suspect in the murder of 30-year-old Charles Johnson of San Francisco, found mortally wounded in a nearby car.

An arrest warrant was issued for Lightfoot and detectives pressed him on his version of events after the January 10 shooting when he was arrested for opening fire with an unspecified weapon a week later.

Lightfoot was eventually booked into the Martinez Detention Facility on suspicion of murder and illegal discharge of a firearm charges. He is being held in lieu of $1,050,000 bail.

Sheriff’s investigators did not disclose a motive for the murder or say why Lightfoot opened fire in the complex on Friday.

Attempting to understand the paragraph “An arrest warrant was….”. A week later from when? It’s not yet a week from the 10th. Not arrested on the 10th?

He was not. Mr. Lightfoot was developed as a suspect after the January 10th shooting and an arrest warrant was issued for him at that time. He was arrested on Friday, the 15th, when he allegedly opened fire in the same apartment complex.
