From the Office of the District Attorney:

Martinez, Calif. – Last week, defendant Raymond Engeszer of Oakland (54-years-old) made his first court appearance and pleaded not guilty to the sexual assault case our Office filed against him. The criminal allegations are for the sexual assault of Jane Doe, a minor at the time of the alleged assault. Engeszer is a former teacher with the Athenian School in Danville. Both alleged counts against Jane Doe occurred in 2013.

Engeszer is out of custody on $150,000 bail.

On September 14, the defendant appeared in court and entered a not guilty plea to two felony counts: sexual penetration by a foreign object of a person under 18 and oral copulation of a person under 18.

Engeszer also taught at Convent & Stuart Hall in San Francisco as a science teacher. Currently, his teaching credential is suspended by the California Commission on Teaching Credentialing.

The Danville Police Department leads this investigation, which is ongoing.  Anybody with information about Engeszer is requested to contact Detective Lynch at 925-314-3711.

Due to the nature of the alleged criminal conduct, our Office will not release any information about the victim in this case.
