An apparent return to pre-pandemic burglary rates was interrupted by Pleasanton police Tuesday after they were dispatched to a report of a suspicious car at the Smart & Final store on Johnson Drive.
Officers arriving on scene at 7:30 a.m. contacted two men from San Francisco in a nearby car, determining that the vehicle had been reported stolen.
A search of the car uncovered a handgun and what police described as a large quantity of stolen property – allegedly taken during a string of car burglaries in a neighboring city.
Both suspects were arrested and booked at Santa Rita Jail. Their names were not given.
Looks like business is good. People leave a lot of snatchable stuff in their cars.
Nice!
