I would like to take a minute to acknowledge local police and so many of our neighbors who took their concerns about so many problems in our country today and aired them in such a peaceful manner this week.
With the exception of one tumultuous day I found both sides willing to listen and work together despite heightened tensions in the Bay Area and across the country and I was gratified to see so many people air legitimate concerns and grievances without the police having to move against them.
Like so many others I watched and waited for the anger we are experiencing to come bubbling up here but, thankfully, it never did. Instead, I saw many of our neighbors taking their concern over the state of things in our country and walk it out on our streets — together.
I’m hoping that we are able to build on this and make things better moving forward.
