Walnut Creek Police say officers participating in a recent Homeless Outreach Program effort in the area of 1900 Tice Valley noticed a camp resident attempt to hide something between his legs during their patrol.

Officers contacted Earl Romiti, age not given, and allegedly found a handgun, ammunition, and drug paraphernalia.

Romiti was arrested for being a felon in possession of a firearm and ammo, illegal lodging and possession of drug paraphernalia.

  1. I’m in favor of Homeless Outreach, but if he’s a felon in possession of a firearm and ammo, he needs to be arrested. Sadly, if he’s homeless he might prefer jail when it’s cold and rainy outside. Three hots and a cot, and the fear of dying in the cold is less of a concern with a roof over your head.
