Police Round Up Armed Carjacking Suspects After Pursuit Ends In Danville Friday

Four people suspected of an armed carjacking in San Ramon are in custody (10:35 a.m.) after a wild chase ended with a foot pursuit in the 600 block of Adobe Drive in Danville Friday.

The suspects, both men and women, abandoned the stolen vehicle and fled into the neighborhood – with officers fanning out to locate them while frantic neighbors attempted to direct them to suspects found hiding in sheds and taken into custody at gunpoint.

Neighbors say officers appears to be searching for a weapon used during the theft, possibly dropped during the foot chase.

Police are looking into the possibility that the group and a car they were using were involved in previous armed robberies in Berkeley Thursday.

Events got underway Friday after a California Highway Patrol officer attempted to stop a bright red 2019 Dodge Challenger on northbound I680 in San Ramon, briefly lost the vehicle and then rejoined the chase as other officers in the area spotted it again, parked in Danville with the occupants out and filtering into the surrounding neighborhood.

Danville police identified the four as:

Tyreon Lang, 20, Oakland

            Jamont Baldwin, 19, Hayward
            Saree Lindhurst, 18, Oakland
            Tyetiana Radford-Chandler, 18, Oakland

Charges filed were:

Lang – Possession of a stolen vehicle, Probation violation, Resisting arrest
Baldwin – Possession of stolen vehicle, Probation violation, Resisting arrest
Lindhurst – Possession of a stolen vehicle
Radford-Chandler – Possession of a stolen vehicle, Probation violation

All four were transported to the Martinez Detention Facility. 

Further charges may be filed by the Berkeley and San Leandro Police Departments once they have completed their investigations.
