Passengers aboard our local transit systems are frequently in touch with this site, reporting delays or worse and sometimes the unusual as they make their way along the morning commute with phones at the ready.
This morning our Tip Line lit up with messages from passengers at Lafayette station reporting a gentleman who had apparently fallen asleep on the floor of their train at 10: 15 a.m., declining the offers of BART police officers who suggested he consider stepping off.
Additional officers were summoned and the sleepy traveller – a 30-year-old San Francisco man – was taken into custody for being under the influence and was eventually booked at the Martinez Detention Facility.
