Walnut Creek Police Detain Two Suspects After Rossmoor Grab-And-Run Theft Wednesday

Police in Walnut Creek detained two men suspected of a grab-and-run purse-snatching from a customer at a Starbucks outlet on Tice Valley Boulevard Wednesday. 

Details remain scarce as the incident is still unfolding as this is written, but a plainclothes officer and uniformed colleagues apparently tracked a blue/black Mercedes believed used in the theft after it was seen leaving the area of 1975 Tice Valley Blvd. at approximately 2:50 p.m.

Witnesses said one of the men left the car and assaulted a female customer, taking her purse and personal items, before running back to the waiting Mercedes.

An officer spotted the car and briefly followed it while alerting fellow officers, who surrounded the car on Olympic Boulevard and detained it’s two occupants.
