Two people in a stolen car led police from several local agencies on a hairy chase out Camino Tassajara towards Dublin Monday and were taken into custody after crashing into a power pole and fleeing on foot.
Both suspects were believed in custody as this is written (9:50 a.m.) and one is believed to be a juvenile girl.
Witnesses reported a VW Passat passing them at high speeds and often into oncoming traffic as police from Danville, San Ramon and the sheriff’s office fell in behind it until the driver lost control of the vehicle and struck a power pole in the area of 8651 Camino Tassajara.
The roadway was closed in both directions while PG&E crews were directed in to help repair the downed lines. It has since been reopened.
