Shot Of Friday’s 3-Alarm Fire In Martinez – Shot From Horseback – Captures Our Attention
We get a lot of reader photos here at NEWS24/680 – some of them funny, some of them dramatic, some with great big thumbs over the camera lens – all of them of interest to us as they’re capturing a moment in our collective timelines.
They don’t all have to be perfectly focused and composed.
This one came to us after a quick-moving grass fire brewed up last night along Highway 4 in Martinez, coalescing into one big 3-Alarm fire and advancing on homes in the area. It was submitted by the father of an equestrian who happened to be riding in the area at the time.
“Here is a pic from about 8:30 on the ridge above Dutra Rd, south side of Franklin Canyon Rd. looking north, that my daughterĀ Chloe HallĀ took on horseback,” he wrote.
Those of you who know us well are aware of our penchant for critters and things archaic, particularly when they are juxtaposed to more modern elements like fire engines and air tankers. Our thanks to the Halls… and to Chloe’s horse for standing still long enough for her to get the shot.
