Firefighters pounced on a pre-dawn fire at a home under renovation in Martinez early Saturday, forced to fight the fire from outside due to the possibility of collapse.
The homeowner was transported to a local hospital with moderate burn injuries, according to a ConFire spokesman, as firefighters fought to save the home on Via de Flores just before 3:30 a.m.
There were no other injuries though firefighters reported significant damage to the residence.
