A lone thief in a dust mask robbed the Bank of the West branch at 21 Moraga Way shortly before 5 p.m. Tuesday, passing a note demanding cash from a teller and escaping on foot.
Orinda Police Chief Mark Nagel said the suspect entered the bank at 4:40 pm. He was described as a white male adult wearing an orange sweatshirt and red head bandana, in his 30s, 6′-tall, with a medium build, brown hair and sunglasses. No weapon was used or shown and no one was hurt during the incident.
He was last seen walking south down Moraga Way.
I guess it’s a small blessing that a weapon was not used — or seen.
Will people in Lafayette get the Orinda flash alerts??
@Sabrina – Sometimes, Sabrina, if incidents “overlap” and are of interest to residents in both areas. We do break it down by city or town just to make things less cumbersome. If they are interested in posts specific to those cities subscribers may, of course, sign up for both.
Have to cover those taxes.
Video?
No weapon? Threat of violence? If not, maybe it was just a desperate plea for charity, which was was fulfilled.
@Chris – Pretty generous act of charity from what we have learned.
