Hammer Drops On Walnut Creek’s Redux Lounge; 45-Day License Suspension As “Disorderly House”

Agents of the California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) on Friday posted a Notice of Suspension at the Redux Lounge, 1411 Locust Street, in Walnut Creek – prohibiting the business from serving or selling alcohol for 45 days. In addition, the bar’s license has been placed on probation for three years, according to ABC.

The agency said the suspension was the result of a joint investigation by ABC and the Walnut Creek Police Department which determined that the business should be deemed a “disorderly house.”

Police were required to respond and take action at the business numerous between August, 2014 and July, 2016, with officers reporting incidents such as fights, assaults, public drunkenness and disturbing the peace.

The ABC could move to permanently revoke the business’s license if its management fails to curtail similar activity on the premises any time during the three-year probationary period.

  1. License suspension… permanent revocation to come. Three year probationary period is a long time, and they will break the rules.

  2. I walked in once and it was perfectly fine even if there were a lot of dudes in black ts and arm tats. Alcohol and a danc floor and women in strapped dresses is usually going to mean trouble at some point down the road.

  3. Do bars survive suspensions like this? Seems to me if your business is dispensing alcohol and the government says you cant you’re pretty much done right?
