Pedestrian Struck, Killed By Car In San Ramon Wednesday

Pedestrian struck on Walnut Avenue Saturday night.

An 84-year-old San Ramon resident was struck and killed by a car while attempting to cross the road near Dougherty and Red Willow roads Wednesday night.

The accident was reported at 8:53 p.m., with callers reporting that a woman was walking in the area at the time was struck. Police identified the pedestrian as Krishna Suri of San Ramon and said she may have been attempting to cross the road against a red light.

She was pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the involved vehicle stayed on scene and is reportedly cooperating fully with investigators.

The department’s IMPACT accident investigation team was mobilized to look into the circumstances leading up to the collision.
