At least three men, believed to be carrying “rifles” of unknown type, entered an Alamo home early Wednesday, threatened the occupants and demanded valuables before getting away with some of the occupant’s belongings, a sheriff’s spokesman said Wednesday.
Sheriff’s spokesman Jimmy Lee said the incident was reported at about 1:5 a.m. in the first block of Crest Avenue. Occupants of the home told police they were sleeping when several armed men entered the home, threatened them and made their demands for valuables. Property of unknown description was supplied, Lee said, and the gunmen eventually fled.
Deputies set up a perimeter in the area and used a police canine team in an effort to locate the suspects but were unable to do so. The suspects have not been found and the investigation is ongoing, according to Lee.
