The fourteen characteristics of fascism. How many have we met?

The occupant of the white house is openly stating that elections may be cancelled.

Members of the media are being arrested and charged with crimes.

The Department of Homeland Security is purchasing warehouses and building concentration camps

Immigration and Customs Enforcement is roaming our cities in masks and unmarked vehicles, abducting people at will.

70,000 people have been abducted and disappeared off of our streets.

Children who were born here are being snatched on their way home from school.

Immigrants and American citizens have been murdered. Unknown numbers of people have died in their camps.

I suggest reading the Bill of Rights, then look up the 14 characteristics of fascism and ask how many we have met.

Wake up.

I find it not just concerning..but actually a bit frightening. The narrative of us verses them is caustic. Nazi Germany is not the only example.. Bosnia…Rwanda…just since the 90s. I pray we can turn this around.

The latino horde has secured a beachhead at Levi’s stadium led by comandante Bad Bunny, and the MAGAts went wild! lol.
As cartoonish as these fascists are, one has to remind oneself, this ain’t reality TV. This government is killing and disappearing people now.
Legacy media has failed us bigly. How many years before any would call his constant lies “lying”. And, the lead story is the Guthrie kidnapping. Are you kidding me? It’s just more profit-based reality TV show. We, the faithful, are on our own. The courts are corrupted. The Congress is corrupted. You have to keep showing up! We are the majority.

To this list I would add: taking steps to ensure the enrichment of one’s own family by subverting government regulations; building grandiose projects and slapping The Leaders name on them; launching retaliatory prosecutions and “investigations” to punish past political enemies.

Comparisons between this period in American history and 1930s Germany have been made and the similarities have been noted. I found the author’s list to be a good start to what we are seeing but I would add the administrations tendency to repay “loyal” supporters with appointments to high pay, high profile jobs for which they were totally unqualified. It’s amazing actually and I can only wonder why the American people have let it happen.

Cooptation of the lords of commerce: Tim Cook, Jeff Bezos, Facebook man, etc.
Obedience in advance: Corporate media ceding frivolous lawsuits, think CBS, to avoid regulatory troubles, and “elite” universities and law firms caving early to frivolous lawsuits or extortionist pressure.
There can be no doubt where we are in this moment. Public opinion has turned against the autocrat. In order to retain power, elections must be neutralized or cancelled.

How about when you attempt to appoint a presidential candidate bypassing the primary process?
How about opening up the border to millions of unvetted people
How about pretending if a mentally ill man decides he is female we should all go along with it
How about not being allowed to consider the possibility that covid leaked from a Wuhan’s lab
How about a high speed rail boondoggle of biblical proportions
How about taxpayer money being abused with so called homeless programs
How about the poor school test scores

      How about whataboutism?
The subject is fascism here and now, and you respond with “poor school test scores” and the shocking (I jest) charge that government programs can waste money? I get that you’re upset, but if you want to opine on your own list of grievances, I suggest that you write your own letter to the editor. He has made multiple invitations.

How about actually reading the Constitution & Bill of Rights?

That would be great but the man currently occupying the White House can’t read.
