… but that’s what happened Friday night when a ConFire wagon crew noticed that the driver of a Prius was having some difficulty navigating southbound I680. The Bus paced the Prius at about 20 mph as it made it’s way onto westbound Highway 24 and the medics called for police to help with a traffic break while they pulled up alongside the hybrid as the driver attempted a 3-point turn – in the middle of Highway 24.
That didn’t go so well and the First Responder-types seized the moment to contact the driver, who was of advanced age and apparently having difficulties with life in the fast lane. The motorist was cooperative and sweet, charming her rescuers, and we believe she was given a ride to the hospital for a checkup.
So, good job to all. Remember, kids, it’s important to respect your elders – you could find yourself making u-turns on the highway someday.

Hell, I’m pulling over people all the time in my car………….just kidding.
Only called into WCPD and CHP twice this week to attend to idiots on the road.

You old Softie…
Great job!!!
Love it when that happens..
Late one night, several years ago, a concord police officer knocked on my front door. He nformed me my 86 year old mom had hit 2 parked cars. He said she was okay and had taken her home. Then he suggested we decline to retrieve her car from impound..as she had blamed the parked cars for the accident…and probably should no longer be driving.
Odd how those cars and poles and hydrants can jump out at you like that! Thanks for the post!
Aww. Poor lady got confused – but a good outcome.
Great article!
