San Ramon residents weary of a series of semi-serious earthquakes rattling their neighborhoods Friday buckled up again on Saturday as yet another swarm – led by a 4.0M shaker – rippled through the area for a second straight night.
Emergency services invoked quake protocols and took steps to make sure their apparatus and infrastructure was secured in the wake of the swarm – which started at 6:31 p.m. with an “attention getting” 4.0M temblor, followed in five minute intervals by a 2.8 and 3.0Magnitude rocker.
There were no immediate reports of damage but, as usual when these things happen, our Flash Lines and Facebook pages lit up as residents aired their impressions of the evening’s swarm.

San Ramon is Rock’n and Roll’n. It must be very unnerving.
For some, Frank… others are taking it all in stride!
Having lived in California all my life, I’ve always taken earthquakes in stride. We don’t live in San Ramon, but it’s concerning that the big one is coming. I read a news article elsewhere there were over 100 in one month in the San Ramon area. Oh, my.
It’s an interesting topic of conversation and certainly of interest to those of us who live here – and who have lived through larger seismic events. Dozens of small “pressure releasers” in the last month and the last few days have been especially active. Not unduly worried, but topping off the emergency supplies and keeping an eye on things… thanks to all our Readers and Flashers who’ve shared their impressions with us in the last 48 hours.
“When out on the lawn there rose such a clatter,
I sprang from my bed to see what was the matter.
Away to the window I flew like a flash,
Tore open the shutters and threw up the sash.”
Hey!! Today’s not garbage pickup.
