A driver navigating Treat Boulevard in Walnut Creek this morning ran into trouble – as well as a curb, a metal sign, and a fire hydrant – in the 1200 block of Treat in front of Treat Towers and his car proved insufficient for the challenge.
Unknown injuries for the driver and a passenger with motorists adding insult to injury by slowing for a little suburban schadenfreude and a look at Walnut Creek’s newest water feature.
That stretch of Treat was closed as crews moved in to clean up the debris and pinch off the gushing hydrant.

Quite the physics experiment on a Wednesday morning. Hopefully injuries sustained, if any, were minor in nature. The magnitude of the schadenfreude is quantified by a separate metric. Onward we go.
