Residents of a multi-level condo in the 3200 block of Terra Granada Drive in Rossmoor called for help from the fire department Tuesday after detecting smoke in the unit.
Firefighters arriving at the scene at approximately 1:15pm confirmed there was fire in the unit’s garage, entering the unit and conducting a search for the origin of the blaze.
The incident’s on-scene commander bumped up the number of firefighters at the scene by declaring a second alarm, firefighters detecting smoke at different locations inside the residence.
No injuries were reported and there were no immediate estimates of damage to the structure. Although no formal determination of cause was given, firefighters reportedly traced a possible origin to an unattended space heater.
