One Dead After Crash/Fire In Danville Monday

An apparent car fire near a condominium in the 400 block of Oneida Court in Danville on Monday left one person dead and the structure heavily damaged.

The fire was reported at 416 Oneida a little after 1 p.m. when a car crashed into a garage, trapping the driver. Flames spread to the nearby residence and apparently overwhelmed the driver, who was found deceased inside.

The deceased was subsequently identified as John Domanico, 68, of Danville.

The involved car’s proximity to nearby structures prompted the evacuation of neighbors as the blaze continued to grow.
