Another Ram Raid – This Time In Orinda
Another Ram And Grab raid, this time in Orinda as thieves smash through the front doors of a local CVS in an apparent attempt to secure its ATM machine.
Orinda PD provided the details later in the day, saying their officers were searching for a stolen car in the area of Brookwood Road and Camino Pablo around 3:13 am when one officer spotted two suspicious vehicles in the middle of Brookwood Road. Both cars fled, leading the officer on a pursuit which was later terminated, according to police.
A short time later, police dispatch received a call that a vehicle crashed into the front of the CVS store located at 50 Moraga Way in an apparent attempt to steal an ATM inside the store. It was determined the suspect who crashed into the CVS had fled in one of the two vehicles pursued earlier.
Orinda PD is asking for anyone with info to call them. There was a similar ATM theft at a store near Lake Merritt in Oakland overnight.
