Two Rescued After 2-Alarm Fire Flares In Walnut Creek Friday

Two people were rescued from a blaze at a two-story apartment complex in the 1700 block of Countrywood Court in Walnut Creek Friday night, both going to the hospital for treatment of smoke inhalation and other injuries.

The fire was reported at 7:59 p.m., quickly going to 2-alarms as firefighters learned two women were believed to be in the residence – initiating a search of the structure amid heavy smoke and fire.

One person was found in a bathroom of the residence, a second person located shortly after.

Both were transferred to a local hospital for treatment.
