Join us for an evening of four virtuoso musicians with distinct styles at the Songwriter Showcase on March 18 at 8 PM. Enjoy an intimate setting with artists who embody unique styles that complement each other. The show will consist of brief sets by each songwriter, followed by the friendly and informal ‘in-the-round’ trading of songs and riffs.

    The Performers:

Jill Knight’s soulful sound is unmistakable. India Arie once quoted, “I love great voices and when I heard Jill sing it stopped me in my tracks.” She later asked Knight to be her opening act. Knight, a Savannah Ga. native delivers a southern texture to an Americana, bluesy, R & B feel that will take the listener on a wonderful ride. Jill has toured and shared stages with… India Arie, Shawn Colvin, David Wilcox, Michael Hedges, Phoebe Snow, Richard Thompson, Little Feat, and many others.

Rachel Garlin is a singer-songwriter whose character-filled songs tell the stories she has collected in her life as a teacher and traveling troubadour. Her four records feature songs noted for vivid, lyrical imagery.

Elaine Romanelli is an NYC-based singer-songwriter who tours nationally, playing listening rooms, house concerts, and more. Her album THE HOUR BEFORE was named to *four* ‘Favorite Albums of 2015’ lists by DJs from around the country, including nationally syndicated DJ Rich Warren, who said: Elaine Romanelli shines like a super nova… Utterly haunting performance… highly original reflections… Of all the singer-songwriter recordings received this year, this one most unnerved me with its simultaneous simplicity and complexity.”

Laura Zucker’s accessible and compelling songs are evocative observations of matters of the heart and of the world. Laura’s no-frills style delivers the truth straight up right into your heart and soul. The lyrics are compelling, while the music takes you spiritually and emotionally to the right place all by itself. The musical style is direct; the strong, clear vocals and meticulous fingerpicking are set in arrangements that strike the perfect balance, inviting you into the story, into the song.
