Once again the athletes and coaches of the Walnut Creek Aquanuts Synchronized Swimming Club will dazzle fans with their annual Labor Day Weekend fall show. The 47th annual fall show, which emphasizes the artistic side of synchronized swimming-complete with glittering costumes, stunning makeup and an amazing set, is landmark to the city of Walnut Creek and showcases not only our Olympic athletes but also young athletes in their very first synchronized swimming performances.
This year’s theme: “Nuts about Rio: Faster, Higher, Stronger,” is a celebration of the 2016 Summer Olympics. The athletes will pay homage to the vibrant host city of Rio de Janeiro with spectacular performances both in and out of the water. The stage will boast a dynamic flaming torch—the symbol of the Olympic Games. The show will depict athletic achievements made in a variety of sports and will feature our homegrown 2012 and 2016 Olympian, Mariya Koroleva, 2012 Olympian Szofi Kiss and collegiate alumnae.
The show opens Thursday 9/1 and runs through Sunday 9/4 at the Clarke Memorial Swim Center at Heather Farm Park. Doors open at 7:00, and performances begin at 8:00. There will be a beer and wine bar and various food vendors.
