We have some exciting programs lined up for this summer’s Friday Connections series at the Lafayette Library. All of the following programs are on Friday at 1pm in the Arts & Science Room, unless otherwise noted…

June 16: Screening of Planet Earth 2 (Deserts) – the acclaimed BBC series narrated by David Attenborough.

June 23: Folk Music Concert – Jim Stevens plays folk, popular, and country favorites, all while sharing the stories behind these classic songs. (Community Hall — if you can attend, registering online or by phone will help us make sure to have enough seating for all: tinyurl.com/jimstevens).

June 30: Innermost House & the Art of Simplicity – This informal conversation with Diana and Michael Lorence of Innermost House will examine the many ways of simplicity, and how an experience of seven years in the woods without electricity, telephone or automobile may be adapted to simplify even the busiest life in the world.

July 7: Screening of Planet Earth 2 (Grasslands) – the acclaimed BBC series narrated by David Attenborough.

July 14: Dance on Film series: 42nd Street – a screening of the classic Busby Berkeley dance music, preceded by a demonstration of some of the dance steps by Diablo Ballet Executive Director Susan Boreliz. (Community Hall)

August 4: Julia Morgan, American Architect – local artist Dorrie Langley discusses the life and work of this California icon, known for her distinctive Craftsman and Mediterranean designs. (Community Hall)
