|“First Thursday” Digital Premiere, April 1, 7:30 p.m. – If you love chamber music, if you like chamber music, if you don’t know what chamber music is, you’re in for a treat when ensembles from the DSO’s brass, wind and string sections highlight a wide range of chamber music styles. Join the DSO at https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LZPs7OIn91E for a program introduced by Music Director Matilda Hofman and featuring orchestra members Alan Kingsley, Bob Satterford, Kirsten West, Lauren West, Marianne Beeler, Eva Langfeldt, Chris Diggins, Sara Usher, Matilda Hofman and Ron Cohen in works that range from the Baroque to the modern. Works by Baroque composers Jean-Marie Leclair (1697-1764) and Samuel Scheidt (1587-1654) contrast and yet balance works by modern American composers Eric Ewazen, Alfred Loeffler, and Mark O’Connor. Matilda will also discuss the various pieces and catch up with Robert, Sara, Lauren, Eva and Ron.
