CHP Oakland Hosts Open House for Explorer Program

    Date(s) - 02/18/2016
    5:00 pm - 6:45 pm

    3601 Telegraph Avenue

On February 18, 2016 at 5:00 PM, the California Highway Patrol’s Oakland Area office will be hosting an “Open House” for our CHP Explorer Post at 3601 Telegraph Avenue in Oakland. This open house is for young adults between 15 and 21 years of age who are interested in becoming a CHP Explorer and their parents/guardians

Explorers will have the opportunity to go through a modified training program similar to what officers go through at the CHP Academy in West Sacramento and can participate in competitions against other Explorer Posts around the United States.  The CHP Explorer Program offers a unique and challenging opportunity for young men and women to become an integral part of the Department’s operations and to experience what a career in law enforcement would be like. Successful completion of the Explorer Program can open many doors and present many opportunities for future employment, especially for an Explorer who is planning to make the CHP a career.

To RSVP for this event or to find out more about the CHP Explorer 370 Post, please call us at 510-450-3821 or e-mail Sergeant Kittell at MKittell@chp.ca.gov

Minimum qualifications for this program are a 2.0 grade-point average, having no drug or alcohol use, and no felony arrests or convictions, and applicants must be in good standing with their school/work/family.
