The Museum of the San Ramon Valley is proud to present the next program in The Iron Road: Building the Transcontinental Railroad series. This program is a celebration of the Chinese who but the railroad from the west. It will take place on Friday, May 11 7:00-8:30 at the Danville Library located at 400 Front Street Danville CA. There is no charge for this program.

Delight in seeing calligraphy, paper folding, knot tying and even a fortune teller all will be there to entertain and fascinate. In addition, a master in the ancient art of lantern making will be on hand. The program will also include poetry and dance.

The Museum is proud to welcome author Ann Bridges whose novel Kit’s Mine is set in 1870 San Francisco and is the story of a young Chinese woman who has come to reclaim her family’s gold mine. Her father had left the mine to work on the building of the transcontinental railroad. She will be doing a reading from it.

A great evening that is not to be missed celebrating the Chinese who built the western portion of the transcontinental railroad.
